Vishwas Puttaswamy enrolled as an Advocate in July 2010 and began his career as a Law Clerk cum Research Assistant at High Court of Karnataka where he was fortunate to conduct legal research under Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shylendra Kumar, Hon’ble Mr. Justice H Billappa, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ram Mohan Reddy and Hon’ble Mr. Justice BS Patil.

He joined Soundarya College of Law as Vice Principal in July 2024. Before joining Soundarya College of Law, Vishwas was serving as Principal at Universal School of Law, Bangalore. Vishwas’s internship during his under graduation in Supreme Court of India under Advocate on Record Ms Anitha Shenoy inspired him to take up law practice at High Court of Karnataka on Civil and Criminal matters.

He is B.A. LL.B graduate from J.S.S. Law College, Mysore, M.A. L.L.M. (Public Administration and International Law) from University of Mysore, M.Sc. Public Policy from Queen Mary University of London, United Kingdom, KET and NET qualified. He is a 1st Rank Holder in LLM, Sri SVL Narayana and Dr Mrs Lalana Narayana Gold Medal recipient for having secured highest marks in L.L.M., Gold Medal for having secured highest marks in International Law.

His doctoral thesis: “Structural Reforms in The Indian Outer Space Sector and Authorization of Private Space Activities in India” (University of Mysore) explores space technology related to the globalization and the increasing presence of private enterprises; it is realized as an endorsement of space actions. The findings of this research work give a platform for developing policy-based research for better enhancement in space-related research work in India.

Vishwas’s research interests are in the fields of Start Up Law, Global Finance Law, International Economic Law, Future Industries Law, Conflicts of Law and Corporate Governance. Vishwas’s main areas of expertise are International Law, Humanitarian Law,

Human Rights Law, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Competition Law, Labour Law, White Collar Crimes, Air and Space Law and Intellectual Property Rights.
Outside law, Vishwas takes particular interest in Social Justice, Entrepreneurship and International Relations.
He is deeply committed to lifelong learning, legal education, design thinking, and student engagement. He focuses on creating transformative learning experiences that foster sustainable career development for future legal practitioners and leaders.
